She is scared of her own power but also constantly worried she's not doing enough as a hero, that she's not good enough to make up for the dark origins of her abilities. But she's actually very competent and earns peoples' respect.
One of her main themes is the struggle to get out of the trap of self-justification so she can be free to do her best and to be more truly herself.
