apparently, what happened was
they lost this kid
and when they found him
he was a plant
in the schoolyard
(they knew it was him because
he had the same face)

turns out,
none of the parents had ever
given permission for their kids
to be turned into lizards
or sent to antarctica
or the rainforest

but i'll say this
no one ever got hurt
and “student engagement”
(which they always talk about)
was through the roof
